Terms of Service
Last updated: January 14, 2025
Plain English Summary
HandoffKit is a clipboard manager for AI context. You pay $3/month (or $30/year) for Pro. Use it responsibly. Your content is yours. Cancel anytime. If something goes wrong, my liability is limited to what you paid. That's basically it.
Agreement
By using HandoffKit ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. I'm Mike C Singer ("I", "me"), the solo developer behind HandoffKit. You're "you" - the person using the service.

Acceptable Use
Use HandoffKit for its intended purpose: organizing AI context. Don't:
- Try to hack, break, or overload the service
- Use it for anything illegal
- Store malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Harass others or violate their privacy
- Resell or redistribute the service
- Scrape or copy the service's code/design
Service Availability
I'll do my best to keep HandoffKit running smoothly, but:
- Sometimes things break (I'll fix them as fast as I can)
- Maintenance happens (I'll try to warn you)
- 99.9% uptime is the goal, not a guarantee
- Back up your important content elsewhere
Intellectual Property
- HandoffKit's code, design, and name belong to me
- Your content belongs to you
- Don't copy HandoffKit's unique features or design
- The handoff methodology is freely shareable (spread the word!)
Privacy
Your privacy matters. See our Privacy Policy for details. The short version: I don't sell your data, ever.
Termination
You can cancel anytime. I can terminate accounts that:
- Violate these terms
- Abuse the service
- Haven't been used in 12+ months (with notice)
If your account is terminated for violations, no refund.
Limitation of Liability
The important legal bit: HandoffKit is provided "as is" without warranties. I'm not liable for any damages beyond what you've paid for the service. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
In plain English: If something goes wrong, my maximum liability is refunding your subscription fee. I can't be held responsible for lost data, lost profits, or consequential damages.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold me harmless from claims arising from:
- Your use of HandoffKit
- Your content
- Your violation of these terms
Changes to Terms
I may update these terms occasionally. If changes are significant:
- I'll email you
- You'll have 30 days to object
- If you object, you can cancel and get a prorated refund
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United States.

I'm a solo developer, not a legal team. If something in these terms seems unfair or unclear, let me know and I'll consider updating them.
The Spirit of These Terms
I built HandoffKit to solve a real problem. These terms are meant to be fair to both of us. You get a useful tool at a fair price. I get to keep the servers running and maybe make a modest living.
Let's both be reasonable humans and this will work out great.
